Today I’ve written to West Sussex County Council Leader Paul Marshall to demand that the Council challenges the Labour Government’s 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗗 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲.

This plan threatens to make everyday life harder for ordinary people — 𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 — by potentially forcing them to use digital identification just to access basic local services like recycling centres.

Reform UK will not stay silent while our freedoms are eroded and our residents are left behind. 𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘅 — protecting their right to access services, their privacy, and their choice to live free from digital dependence.

It’s time for local leaders to show some backbone and speak up for the people they represent. 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗨𝗞 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁.
